More about VanessaThe Team
The people behind the people skills.
Scott Edwards
COO
"Data-driven operator who built the first version of the site and now runs operations, marketing, and technology."
I run Operations, Marketing, and Technology at Science of People. I built the very first version of the website when Vanessa told me about her idea to help others with their communication. I officially joined the team as COO in 2017.
I love working with data, systems, and automation that enable small businesses to act big.
Something good: If you've read Cues, I lean towards competence and love a good fact-checking mission.
Martina Langdon
Head of Speaking and Partnerships
"I'm a strategic connector and builder. I help businesses with powerful ideas scale through speaking and partnerships, so more people feel confident and connected."
I believe relationships are the heartbeat of business. I've always been drawn to the skills that make teams work: communication, trust, presence, and emotional intelligence. I started dancing at age three and later danced professionally, which taught me discipline, presence, and the power of nonverbal cues.
My career has taken different shapes—from corporate marketing, to public speaking and on-air hosting (including QVC). I'm especially drawn to mission-driven work, the kind of companies and leaders who want to do well and do good. I lead Speaking & Partnerships, building systems, relationships, and opportunities that expand Vanessa's impact at scale.
Something good: My daily "something goods" are music, fresh air, holistic health, dancing, and time with family and friends.
Carolyn Remillard
Operations Manager
"I solve the 'how' so our team can focus on the 'what,' creating a clear, organized path for every big idea we have!"
I've always loved reading people and understanding what makes them tick, and now I get to learn from the best and help others do the same!
Something good: I have two kitties (one of them may or may not have a TikTok account) and am an avid consumer of reality TV—all-time favorites are Real Housewives + Traitors.
Dan Schmalz
Growth & Conversion Manager
"I focus on turning insights and feedback into clear priorities that help our team make better decisions."
Behind the scenes, I spend time testing ideas, learning what works, and refining how things flow so your experience stays clear, effective, and continues to improve over time.
Something good: I love seeing how small decisions can shape bigger outcomes.
Apryl Schlueter
People Coach | Community Programming & Engagement Lead
"I'm a coach who takes an engineering-minded approach to helping people accomplish what matters most."
Connection and accomplishment are two of my core values, which makes my work with Science of People a natural fit. I'm deeply curious about people—how their experiences shape who they are, what motivates them, and what helps them follow through. I believe meaningful progress happens when people feel seen, supported, and free to show up as themselves.
I bring a versatile background and an engineering-informed mindset to my work, helping individuals and communities turn insight into action in ways that are practical, energizing, and sustainable. I aim to balance structure with play, strategy with authenticity, and momentum with flexibility, because real growth should support both progress and well-being.
Something good: In 2025, I launched a podcast called The Accomplishment Project, an ongoing exploration of what it really takes to pursue meaningful goals with intention and sustainability.
Robert Hwang
Content Specialist
"People-watcher turned writer, combining a passion for people skills with storytelling to manage the brand's content."
My name is Rob Hwang, and I'm passionate about people. But I didn't always get along with them. When I was a child, I'd hang out alone in the corner by the tree. But as I silently watched, I slowly developed a superpower of my own. I saw exactly how others socialized. Why they laugh. What makes them tick. And how to be influential.
Through Science of People, I'm able to fully combine my passions for people skills and writing by managing the brand's content.
Something good: As a child, I'd hang out alone in the corner by the tree. But through silently watching, I slowly developed a superpower—seeing exactly how others socialized.
Brian Mackie
People School (& Coach) Ambassador
"I help professionals determine if they're ready for the next level of charisma. By managing the sales and onboarding journey for People School, I turn curiosity into confidence for our incoming students."
Calling all career pivoters! Graduating with a degree in math, it took me a decade to use it as a professional. Working first as a pastor, then financial advisor and now for Science of People, I have gained a wide variety of skills.
These skills helped me break the glass ceilings I had placed in my way. Now I get to help others learn they can develop the people skills needed to achieve their dreams.
Something good: Did you know that the NHL has the shortest offseason of all the major sports? This means more hockey for me to watch! Go Predators!
Niña Robles
Executive Partner
"I'm a dedicated partner who manages the behind-the-scenes work. I organize the chaos and handle the execution so you can lead with total clarity."
An introvert at heart with a passion for continuous growth, I thrive at the intersection of Learning and Development. I'm fascinated by how the right systems can empower people to reach their full potential. Working alongside Scott, I act as the quiet engine—turning ambitious visions into action through trusted partnership and disciplined execution.
Something good: I find my inspiration in the outdoors—whether I'm navigating a new hiking trail, camping beneath the stars, or channeling that natural beauty into intricate, handmade floral crafts.
Jacinth Pribhdas
Executive Partner
"I'm the behind-the-scenes partner who filters the noise so we can stay focused on what we do best: connecting with our community."
I support the team by managing our systems and filtering the noise so we can stay fully present with our community. I've always been a natural observer. I find it fascinating how much you can learn about someone by paying attention to small things, like a shift in tone or mannerism. I love using those unspoken details to anticipate what's needed next so that everything runs smoothly.
Something good: Exploring the intersection of logic and adventure—from the mental puzzles of an escape room to the adrenaline of flying a plane.
